We have tried several fish and chips shops in Haywards Heath and the surrounding areas and by far Sam's Fish Bar is the best. I like their rockfish - it's super fresh. Their batter is on the thin side which makes it suuuper crunchy and doesn't overpower the taste of the fish. The chips are crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside. Everything is good and next time we will be back for some mushy peas. 😋 It's also a place with friendly and welcoming staff. You can take your time and enjoy the food without feeling rushed.

My wife and I were in the area and decided to pop into Sam’s for haddock and chips at lunch time today. This was our first visit and the greeting was very friendly, we took a seat in the dining area at the back where it was nice and cool. Haddock and chips were cooked to order and arrived in the appropriate time. The portions were very generous and the food looked great. It did not disappoint, the fish was excellent and the batter was very light plus the chips were cooked just right. Great lunch we will be back.

I love fish and chips when I was in England 50 years ago. I am back and have been looking for the same high quality fish and chips I enjoyed all those years ago. Sam's Fish Bar met and exceed my expectations. The fish was delicious and chips golden brown and crunchy. Highly recommend this place if you are looking for great fish and chips.
